For our client, a fast growing local leader in the automotive and defence industry, we are searching a Director Procurement & Supply Chain (m/x/f) based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. If you are an experienced procurement management with deep knowledge in the aerospace and defence industry looking for a position with strategic impact this might be the position for you.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Managing and improving the performance of all supply chain and procurement processes regarding effectiveness and efficiency • Securing a high performing purchasing operation for the procurement of materials, supplies, equipment as well as services based on applicable statutes, established purchasing policy and procedures • Driving substantial cost savings, process improvement and compliance (governance) related to procurement and supply chain management activities; utilizing best practices in Strategic Sourcing to optimize the total cost of ownership • Developing and managing supplier relationships to align strategic sourcing objectives while minimizing financial and business continuity risks; developing a vendor assessment and scorecard system, establishing QBRs with key vendors, and negotiating best volume pricing • Developing and implementing formal strategic sourcing plans for designated spend categories to support business goals and objectives • Disciplinary leadership and development of the procurement organization • Participation as an active member of the strategic management team on Group Level and providing the Management Team with analysis on the impact of price/volume and availability on purchasing/business decisions • Consulting on Group Level, R&D, Manufacturing and Process Technology to provide metrics information and insights regarding the competition, potential entrants, pricing initiatives and quality, service, price and distribution issues

REQUIREMENTS

• Relevant manufacturing/engineering or business/commercial degree is mandatory. • Relevant and strong work experience in purchasing/procurement roles in the aerospace or defense industry • Strong understanding how to improve business processes with the use of modern ERP systems • SAP S4/Hana knowledge as a preference including all relevant tools in the area of supply chain and procurement • Strong technical understanding of aerospace/ defence industry specifics (small volumes and high technical complexity) • Department and talent management experience • Decision making skills and getting things done attitude • Team-orientation, strong people and communication skills • Strong analytical thinking • Fluent in English
