Engineering Manager (m/w/d) - Automotive
On behalf of our client, a reference in the defense automotive industry, we are seeking an Automotive Engineering Manager for this great opportunity in UAE.
The Automotive Engineering Manager is responsible for managing resources & knowhow, developing, planning, scheduling and architecting the work progress and ensuring the application of technical due process, technical risk, and abatement management processes. Your responsibilities: *Functional role* • Manage departmental issues, leadership, departmental HR issues • Resource management. • Technical responsibility and head in automotive issues. • Line budgeting. • Strategy process support. • Prepare and maintain the project work breakdown structure. • Identify project resource requirements. • Ensure sound Baseline Management. • Hold Local Technical Meetings (Chairman) and Customer Technical Meetings (Deputy Chairman). • Plan and maintain the project schedule. • Create the project development budget and manage the budget within approvals. • Identify and manage stakeholders. • Identify and manage project technical risks. • Hold regular project progress and performance reviews. • Provide monthly technical performance report on the project. • Ensure delivery and acceptance of completed deliverables by the customer. • Identify and manage any changes to the configuration through the sound application of the Configuration Management Plan. *Project based responsibilities* • Act as the direct support for the Program Manager on all technical matters. • Resource management and allocation for the multiple projects. • Compilation and management of the Engineering Management Plan Activities. • Development of the Product Strategy. • Integration of all technical effort on the project. • Baseline Management culminating in the Development Roadmap. • Detail Planning of the project with all stakeholders through the creation of the WBS and SOW’s. for the complete program as well as per sub project. • Application of engineering due process as defined by the Company Quality Gates. • Technical Risk and Abatement Management. • Manages the system engineering effort to capture the requirements and manage a requirements compliance register, Compilation of technical specification and review with client. • Determine the resource requirements and manage the development budget. • Chairing the local technical committees, support the Customer Technical Committee and Program Meetings. • Manage the resource allocated to deliver the project deliverables. • Technical support during the contractual negotiations and the management thereafter. • Define the technology insertion roadmap for the program. • Support Supplier Selection - RFQ's. Material availability. Long lead items. Export control item identification and risks. • Mass and Cost model control. • Support the ILS design process. • Support the Industrialization Process.
• Master’s degree in Technical or Engineering. • Engineering Management Professional. • ≥ 20 years of experience in defense vehicle manufacturing/ engineering. • Experience with project management of complex equipment projects. • Experience with management of teams. • Expert knowledge with engineering management, system engineering and engineering design. • Advanced knowledge with project management, vehicle manufacturing, configuration management, risk management, computer literacy and English language (oral and written). • Intermediate knowledge with quality in development. • Exceptional skills in result-orientation and working together. • Strong negotiation and influence, decision making and problem solving, planning, and organizing, accountability, attitudes, and ethics skills. • Good communications skills.
